Our security windows including the Safevent® window for mental health are tested to extremes and designed to perform in the most challenging environments. However, it is critical that windows are regularly checked for signs of physical attack or tampering which may undermine safety or security.
We understand the pressures on clinicians and estates staff, and appreciate that it can be difficult for them to find the time and perhaps the necessary expertise in-house to carry out in-depth checks on windows.
Our maintenance department can therefore work with you to create a tailored programme of ongoing checks and planned preventative maintenance according to likely risk levels arising from various factors including your facility type and service user profiles.
Our security window maintenance packages typically include:
1. Internal & external inspection of all working parts to the window
2. Clean, oil and lubricate all moving parts
3. Repair or replace any minor defects to the window – e.g gasket
4. Replacement of seals if required
5. Check drainage channel, leakage and effective operation
6. Report any trend / pattern of damage occurring on the window (and reappraise maintenance frequency if appropriate)
7. Clean window inside and out
8. Final security check
We will sign off all windows, leaving you a copy for your records, and get in touch again when the next inspection is due.
