The Centre for Mental Health Care & Recovery at Bantry Hospital serves West Cork and includes the wider areas around Skibbereen, Clonakilty/Dunmanway, and Bantry. The aim of the project was to improve the external environment for service users as well as the safety and security aspects of the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Anti-ligature Fortress 80 Fencing is widely used for securing mental health unit buildings, recreational and outdoor areas, providing total security and safety for patients and staff. Supported on substantial posts and fixed with anti-tamper fixings, Fortress Fencing is ultra-strong, exceptionally secure and can be built up to heights of 5.2 metres.
Fortress Climb-Guard is a curved aluminium profile which can be fitted to low roof pitches and wall areas to prevent people from climbing onto them and absconding or injuring themselves.
The Britplas team overcame a key challenge by working with the client to deal with a fall in the ground and used base plates to ensure that the image on the fencing ran through level across the whole garden.
