The latest in a series of installations which started in 2009 for Queensland’s health authority, Britplas were delighted to continue with the provision of high quality products for Hervey Bay’s first mental health inpatient unit. The facility provides more timely access for consumers to the service while helping to divert health presentations away from the emergency department.

The new 22-bed facility will have a profound impact on mental healthcare services on the Fraser Coast. The acute facility was purpose-built to provide assessment and treatment for people with a mental illness over the age of 18 that require inpatient care. Service user bedrooms are fitted with the latest Safevent external sliding windows with access sash which helps to provide the overall light, spacious feel to the facility, but also one of safety.
