Britplas completed the design and installation of the windows, curtain walling and cladding in the second phase of development of student accommodation at Salford after already having completed the first phase.
Project details
As well as the complex and distinctive cladding, the project scope included the design and installation of windows, curtain walling, doors, EPDMs, plenums, insulation, firestops, subgrid, louvres and steel doors as well as an automatic entrance lobby with soffit. Building on the experience we had gained from Phase 1, we were able to improve the plenum designs, and the subgrid design was specifically optimised by our Design team to substantially reduce interruptions to the firebreak which sped up and improved the installation programme.
The main contractor was particularly impressed with the quality and speed of the installation and overall programme management, which allowed them to make programme improvements elsewhere and improve the efficiency of the build.
