Team and Specialist Network
Our full team of in-house designers and design managers work across all projects, supported by an extensive network of specialist consultants including structural, thermal and acoustic engineers for projects where additional expertise or independent verification is required.
This combination means every project benefits from the consistency and accountability of an in-house team, backed by specialist input exactly where and when it’s needed.
The earlier we’re involved, the more value we can add. Engaging our team from the outset means the right expertise is shaping your project from concept, not brought in to solve problems after specification.
BIM
Building Information Modelling represents a digital revolution for the UK construction industry, and at Britplas we have invested significantly in training, hardware and software to ensure that our design team is fully level 2 compliant and able to offer our clients the latest BIM technology to best suit the requirements of each individual project. We were the first subcontractor in the UK to achieve BIM Level 2 accreditation with Lloyds Register EMEA (LR) in 2018.
The advantages of BIM are many and varied and its potential is far from reached, however it is already allowing for improved collaboration between project contractors and sub-contractors, greater accuracy in design, manufacturing and scheduling, better clash detection and improved 3D visualisation at pre-construction stage.

DESIGN
Research and Development
Design at Britplas doesn’t stop at the drawing board.
Our dedicated in-house Research & Development department develops, tests and validates bespoke solutions from concept through to completion.
Because our designs can be developed, prototyped and physically tested in-house, we’re able to prove performance before a product ever reaches site, rather than design operating purely as a drawing function. This gives our clients confidence that what’s specified is exactly what will perform, and allows us to solve genuinely bespoke challenges with speed and rigour that a drawing-only approach simply can’t match.
Thermal Modelling
Our in-house thermal modelling capability is delivered by technicians trained in BISCO, carrying out thermal calculations and modelling in accordance with BS EN ISO 10077-2.
This includes:
- U-value calculations
- Linear thermal transmittance (psi-value) assessments
- Surface condensation risk assessments
Carrying out this analysis in-house means thermal performance is considered from the earliest stages of design, helping avoid costly redesign further down the line and ensuring compliance is built in rather than checked after the fact.
SOFTWARE CAPABILITY
