Britplas Façades, a specialist division of Britplas Group (EOT), has been appointed by Morgan Sindall to deliver the full façade package for the new Blackpool Multiversity, a flagship education development at the heart of the Talbot Gateway regeneration.

Working alongside CBRE and Lancaster University, the scheme will create a purpose-built, future-focused campus designed to accommodate more than 3,000 students and staff in Blackpool town centre.

The £6 million façade package is due to commence in October 2026, with a 40-week programme, marking a significant milestone for the team as the division continues its strong growth trajectory. Over the past decade, Britplas Façades has established itself as an innovative and trusted delivery partner in the façade and building envelope sector, working with leading Tier 1 contractors across complex, design-led schemes.

The building will feature a distinctive high-gloss terracotta façade combined with extensive glazing, requiring careful consideration of both aesthetic intent and technical performance.

This latest appointment further strengthens the division’s relationship with Morgan Sindall, following the successful delivery of the Wirral Council Offices project in 2023, also featuring distinctive terracotta cladding, and builds on momentum generated by recent major project wins, including the Edgbaston Stadium redevelopment, which broke ground earlier this year.

The pre-construction team, including Pre-Construction Director – Oliver Cavanagh, Bid Manager – Phil McNulty, Operations Director – Simon Summers and Managing Director – Jason Cross, worked closely with Morgan Sindall and the wider design team to provide product guidance, programme insight and façade strategy development aligned with the project’s architectural ambition.

Key factor in the award was Britplas Façade’s ability to provide cost certainty and programme confidence at pre-construction stage. Through developing multiple technical solutions, whilst providing proactive value engineering and sequencing advice, the team ensured clarity and risk mitigation ahead of contract award.

In addition, Britplas Façades will support Morgan Sindall’s social value commitments, aligning with the contractor’s wider Social Value Charter. This includes a strong focus on local supply chain engagement and responsible procurement, supported by Britplas’ proven track record of delivering on local spend commitments. Sustainability also remains a key priority, with the project contributing to both organisations’ shared objectives around responsible construction and environmental performance.
