Project Details
Britplas were selected to design and install the external façade for the Calico student accommodation complex on Norton Street, Liverpool.
Built equal distance between both of Liverpool’s universities and designed by architects Falconer Chester Hall, Calico was built on the site of the former National Express bus station and consists of 4 accommodation blocks with 735 bedrooms plus a gym, cinema room, bars and gaming area.
The striking external façade features curtain walling, windows, intricate cladding and door systems.
Systems used include Aluprof MB-SR50N capped curtain walling, Aluprof MB-SR50N SG silicone pointed curtain walling, Aluprof MB-70Hi window suite: opening lights glazed internally, fixed lights externally, aluminium cladding; and a Smartwall thermally broken commercial door system.
Calico is the first collaboration between Britplas and Create Construction, who worked together to meet the high specification desired by the client Niveda Realty.
