MOMENTUM CONTINUES FOR BRITPLAS FAÇADES WITH £3.6M MANCHESTER AIRPORT PREMIER INN WIN

On the back of successful completion of BCEGI project; Church Street – Eccles, Britplas Façades has been appointed by BCEGI to deliver a £3.6m complete façade package for the new Premier Inn at Manchester Airport, with work due to start this month.

Warrington, Cheshire – July 2026

Britplas Façades continues to build significant momentum, with a further run of project wins, a reflection of the strength of the team’s expertise, capability and growing reputation across increasingly complex, high-profile schemes.

The Manchester Airport Premier Inn project forms part of the ongoing growth of hospitality and travel infrastructure around Manchester Airport, supporting increased passenger demand with high-quality, design-led accommodation close to the terminals.

The win came down to the strength of the conversations had early on, aligning design, cost and sequencing in a way that gave the wider team a clear and buildable pathway from the outset.

Our package, consisting of SFS, rainscreen, cavity barriers and glazing, will be delivered as a single, coordinated façade solution, giving BCEGI a cleaner interface and a smoother pathway through a busy construction programme.

The project was shaped by Britplas Façades’ Pre-Construction and Design teams; Jason Cross – Managing Director, Oliver Cavanagh – Pre-Construction Director, Adam Gaunt – Senior Estimator, and Andrew Harrison – Design Manager, who worked closely with BCEGI to develop a solution that made sense both technically and commercially.

The approach reflects Britplas Façades capability: in-house engineering, an accurate and traceable delivery process and a team culture driven by collaboration.

Commenting on the appointment, Jason Cross, Managing Director of Britplas Façades, said:
“This win came down to the strength of the conversations we had early on; aligning design, cost and sequencing in a way that gave the wider team a clear and buildable pathway from the outset. It’s a great example of what happens when collaboration starts before contracts are even signed, and we see it as the foundation for a lasting partnership with BCEGI.”

Oliver Cavanagh, Pre-Construction Director at Britplas Façades, added:
“This is exactly the type of project where our façade knowledge, people and processes make a measurable difference. Delivering SFS, rainscreen, cavity barriers and glazing as a single, coordinated solution gives BCEGI a cleaner interface and a smoother pathway through a busy programme, that’s the value in-house teamwork brings.”

A great result, one that reflects the effort of everyone involved from start to finish, and one we’re proud to have built on repeat business with BCEGI.

Simon Summers, Operations Director at Britplas Façades, added:

BRITPLAS APPOINTS JACK JOHNSON AS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER FOR SECURE DIVISON

Britplas Group has appointed Jack Johnson as Research & Development Manager for its Secure Division, marking a significant milestone in the continued evolution of the company’s proprietary product portfolio.

Innovation has been central to Britplas since its founding in 2006, following the invention of its flagship secure sliding sash window, the Safevent. The appointment of Jack Johnson reinforces this heritage and signals the company’s long‑term commitment to advancing secure product design, performance and manufacturing excellence.

In his new role, Jack will lead a centre of excellence for secure product development, driving collaboration and cross‑functional working across the business. His remit will include the development of a long‑term pipeline of new proprietary secure products, continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and the progression of Britplas’ secure solutions to meet the increasingly complex demands of high‑risk and secure environments.

Jack joins Britplas from Whitecroft Lighting, where he played a pivotal part in establishing an R&D department from the ground up. He worked extensively within the healthcare sector, including contributing to the development of a Medium Secure Unit (MSU) product range. His experience working within secure clinical settings has given him a deep understanding of the competing requirements faced by such environments, balancing the needs of staff, service users, safety, compliance and durability.

Prior to this, Jack held a role at Dyson, where he was instrumental in delivering the next generation of environmental products. During his time there, he worked to exacting standards of quality and innovation and contributed to the development of two patented products, experience that will directly support Britplas’ continued focus on intellectual property and proprietary design.

Working closely with Tim Lyon, Secure Design Manager, Jack will be instrumental in shaping the future direction of Britplas’ secure product portfolio, ensuring it continues to set industry benchmarks for safety, performance and innovation.

Commenting on the appointment, Tim said:
“Jack’s experience, technical capability and understanding of secure environments make him a natural fit for Britplas. His appointment strengthens our commitment to innovation and ensures we continue to push boundaries in secure window design.”

Jack Johnson added:
“Britplas has a strong reputation for innovation within secure environments, and I’m excited to build on that legacy. The opportunity to lead secure product development and collaborate across such experienced teams is one I’m really looking forward to.”
