Project Details

Working alongside Cambridge NHS Trust, Britplas developed a solution to enhance the external courtyard at The Croft, Ida Darwin Hospital and increase privacy for service users.

The facility is used to house children and adolescents so removing the harsh prison like feel to any outside space was paramount to creating a therapeutic environment.

The Croft was one of the larger Fortress Fencing install projects we’ve completed recently with over 70 linear metres of 2.4m high fencing erected around a large grass area, all with a continuous forest pattern to blend in to the nearby trees and create a more open feel. Solid panels were added to the external outer surface of the fence so that people using the car park next door can’t look in, increasing the privacy and dignity for service users.

Richard Brown, Project Manager for Serco, commented “Thanks for your final site visit today and I would like to confirm what a good job your operatives have done and please thank them again for working over the Easter holiday to get the project complete.”
