Project Details
Jasmine Ward is a purpose-built mother and baby mental health unit (MBU), giving specialist perinatal care from 32 weeks pregnant to a year after birth. Britplas are supplying a mixture of 42 externally and vertically sliding Safevents for bedroom and communal areas, all in aluminium.
This is the first of four new MBUs to be opened as part of a nationwide £365m NHS England scheme to increase access to specialist perinatal care for 30,000 women in the UK. Jasmine ward consists of en-suite bedrooms, open plan communal areas and two separate apartments for visiting family. The Exeter Perinatal Community Mental health team moved in at the end of May 2019 when the unit was officially opened.
“We have used many different window manufacturers over the years for our inpatient units and have found Britplas to be a robust and reliable product.” Mark Barriball, Head of Estates and Facilities, Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
